lecture: Open-Source DAB

Digital Audio Broadcast with Free Software

Event_large

DAB is a digital broadcasting standard for which an open-source transmission chain exists: the CRC mmbTools.
This talk gives some insights into DAB and into the technical aspects related to its transmission.
These tools will enable community radios to switch from FM to DAB, and a few examples of this evolution will also be mentioned.

This talk will be followed by a small workshop if there is interest.

If you have any kind of hardware that allows to receive or transmit, bring it with you !

I will bring my USRP B100, my RTL2832u stick and a small DAB+ radio.

The full DAB standard is available on the internet, just google for ``ETSI TR 101 495'' and ``ETSI EN 300 401''.
